Alex is a senior software engineer who has spent his career building mobile apps — iOS and Swift, app architecture, and the real tradeoffs of shipping and maintaining production code.

Alongside the company’s products, he writes The Mobile Engineer, a newsletter for mobile engineers; hosts the Inside iOS Dev podcast; and authored The iOS Interview Guide and the iOS System Design Interview course. The through-line across all of it is the same: practical lessons drawn from real engineering work, not theory.

Lopatin Enterprises, Inc. is a Texas C corporation and the home for that work as a business — a small portfolio of software tools and media for the people who write code.
